Project Stitching

I have just started the stitchery for my next canvas. I found the cutest picture of a pony, I have changed the colour, but hopefully it will be just as cute. You will have worked it out after a few posts anyway, but Ill put it out there now... I LOVE horses!!

Back to the canvas, This is the original picture and I'll show you the finished stitchery in a few days. Hope you like!

Bye now xx

That's Southland for you

The first thing you notice about Southland is the weather! This morning I went with dad and checked all of the sheep at the back of the farm. It started off pretty chilly outside, but trust me, it didn't get any warmer.

I should probably introduce my first ever pet, Emily. I got her as a lamb when I was two and am now twelve, making her our oldest sheep on the farm at ten years! She is a very good ewe as she has had triplets almost every year and brings them all up into big lambs. Emily is my favourite sheep on the farm and is really easy to tell from the rest of them with a big black spot around her right eye.

I can't wait till Emily has her lambs this year, I'll put them up as soon as I get a picture.
Back to looking sheep, that was just the first paddock. After looking four more paddocks, we found a brand new set of twins. Look at this cutie, he is only a few minutes old!

This is where the weather gets bad, One second the sky is clear (Above), then...

We get really bad weather every Lambing, last year it snowed and snowed and snowed leaving hardly any lambs. It makes the rain seem OK. Wish us luck though, it's meant to snow tomorrow :(

I'll leave it at that for today - pray for good weather :D

My First Post

Before I start, this blog is for anyone interested in animals. If they aren't too high on your favourites list, don't bother reading any more.

Awesome, you like animals! Anyway, I'm Farm Girl Jr, and if the name Farm Girl sounds familiar to you, it probably is. I am Farm Girl (Stitching) 's daughter. I live on a sheep and beef farm at the bottom of New Zealand with my Mum, Dad and younger sister. I would list all of my pets for you but if you keep reading, you will meet most of them in my posts.

I'll start you off with Marley, my Possum Tabby kitten. Marley is the funniest of all of our pets and you will hear a lot more about him later. He may seem a little bit strange on the outside, but on the inside, actually, he probably is pretty weird inside too (and everyone wonders where he gets it from ;] ). Put it this way, he gets stuck in plastic bags, is best friends with the dog, drinks out of toilets and is forever walking into furniture. Here he is...

Marley's Best Picture

He looks pretty normal right? Just wait, you will see another side of the kitten very soon. I hope you will continue reading or leaving a comment here or there.

Thanks, Farm Girl Jr xx
